“You underestimate, Psyche.” He flung out the name carelessly. His eyes locked onto Psyche, making sure that he didn’t run away. Those that approached or came near Grei often ran away from intimidation. Yet, those were the stereotypical kouhai girls who admired Grei from afar. After all, he was seen as the only way of the angsty teenage drama that a girl can satisfy herself with.
Class was the last place Grei wanted to be stuck in. The day was almost over anyway, if he went to class at that moment, then he would have gotten detention for skipping. Either way he might as well have fun with what was left of the day.
Lightly grabbing onto Psyche’s wrist, he started to sprint down the hallways. If they were going to head anywhere, he’d at least make sure that they weren’t intoxicated with the fumes of learning. He’d make sure that fresh air would grace them with its presence. Heading up the stairs, he opened the door for the other.
“Come on, I won’t bite.”
“So you do know my name.” Psyche’s eyebrows lifted a bit in surprise. The teen was confused on how Grei knew it though. They never talk and he’s barely been to any of the classes. Maybe people were spreading even more rumors about him, so his name is going to be known. “That’s probably it,” he muttered under his breath.
The next thing he knew, he was practically flying through the halls. “H-hey! Wh-where are we going?!” When they stopped running he paused to catch his breath. Running at such speeds so suddenly really did take his breath away. After a minute he finally could breathe normally again and looked at Grei, giving a small scoff. “I find that hard to believe. You do look like the biting type.”
… Did I just really say that? A dark red hue flushed his face, finding it almost unbelievable that those words slipped out of his mouth. “I-I’m sorry.” Biting his lower lip he walked through the door, trying his best to hide his embarrassment.
“Wonderful,” his cold exterior automatically turned to the sweet face he always carried. Pressing his lips lightly on the boy’s nose, he pulled him up back onto his feet. When he woke up he didn’t think he’d encounter such an adorable little boy, let alone fall in love with him. “I warn you though, I’m pretty rough when it comes to love.”
Love, such a strange word to such a strange man. He never really yearned for it like the stereotypical teenagers do. Instead he painted it and then just threw it away without a care. Still in a young age, he couldn’t understand why someone would devote their life to it. To him he was just playing better than the rest in the game.
“But don’t worry, I’m worth it.”
This guy… This guy was weird. Did Grei even know Psyche’s name? They’ve never talked until now and he basically threatened Psyche to fall in love with him! What kind of person does that? A small blush dusted across the pink eyed boy when he felt the other man’s lips on his nose.
“Wh-what exactly do you mean by rough?”
Psyche wasn’t even sure if he wanted to know the answer to that. Was he abusive? That’s usually what it meant, right? When he was finally back up onto his feet he looked up at Grei and suddenly felt so much smaller than he ever has. This guy was obviously strong and almost mysterious. Like one moment he could be nice, then cold, then nice again. What was up with that?
To the young boy, love wasn’t something to just be forced upon. It takes time for love to grow and blossom. You can’t just meet someone and automatically fall in love with them by force! That’s not how it goes! … But this time was going to have to be different. It’s going to have to go against his thoughts and beliefs. All because he didn’t want to get beaten up again.
“… Do you even know my name? And how do I know you’re worth it. We’ve never talked before until now. I don’t know anything about you, you don’t know anything about me. Also, why did you make me choose between those two things? There must be a reason, right?”
“Ooh yeah, everyone’s surprised and intimidated
Everyone wake up! Get frantic instead of being calm
Everything okey dokey, don’t hold it in but just flare it up yeah
Bring anyone you want and rock n’ roll
Tilting his head to the side, he noticed the adorable little boy on the ground. The big bad bullies sure did a number on him. When his eyes flickered back up at him, he couldn’t help a sly smile on his face.
“He’s a small one isn’t he? How about you guys take a break? Get yourself some kind of soda or some shit you guys drink.” His sweet voice didn’t seem very suspicious to them. They just shrugged it off as they left. What a bunch of hooligans.
Taking a few steps, he kneeled down and stared into Psyche’s pretty colored eyes. He kept a straight face, examining him. He seemed to have a few bumps and bruises, but nothing that wouldn’t heal in a few days.
“Now you have two choices. Either get beaten to a pulp or fall in love with me.”
Pink optics widened at the sight before them. They left… just like that. Without a second word or anything! “That’s never happened before,” he muttered quietly to himself, still in shock. When Grei knelt down in front of him he tried to push himself farther against the lockers - almost trying to hide himself. What was this guy looking at? His bruises and scars on his face? Why?
Why does he keep staring at me? And why did he - … What?!
As soon as Psyche heard the two options, his eyes widened immediately and opened his mouth in confusion. “Wh-what? Y-you can’t just say-,” he cut himself off when he saw that Grei was serious. This guy was easily ten times more stronger than the other guys. If he were to be beaten to a pulp by him, it would take forever to heal and would be in pain even longer. Something he definitely did not want.
“I… F-fine. You w-win.”
The bell’s ring rushed through the entire school, signaling everyone to simultaneously move somewhere else. While everyone else had eagerly or gradually made their way to next block, Grei kept himself huddled in the bathroom. Flicking the fire from his lighter, he lit the cigarette propped inside of his mouth. The smoke flew high towards the ceiling as he breathed out.
“Ah.” The sweet taste of nicotine burst through his taste buds. Missing the first few periods meant nothing to him. After all, having a very influential parents in the system helped him do whatever the fuck he wanted. It was refreshing.
Yet, staying in the cramped bathroom for a while wasn’t his dream day. After flushing down his cigarette, he made his way through the crowded hallway. Then he heard a loud bang and his head stretched up to see a poor boy surrounded.
“Yo, what’s going on here?”
Hearing the oddly familiar voice, Psyche’s eyes shot open and looked directly at the guy. He’s seen this guy before! They were in the same anatomy class - even if that guy hardly ever showed up. What’s his name again? …. Grei? Yeah, Grei! Psyche couldn’t remember if they have ever talked before. How could Grei walk up to this scene and act so casual? Couldn’t he see what was going on? Maybe he could help me..
With eyes shining from tears to come, he looked up at Grei with a desperate look. Silently begging for him to help. Just to get him away from those beasts! He didn’t care if he left afterwards, he just wanted to escape from another beating. One of the guys who had Psyche by the collar of his shirt turned around and smirked. “Grei! Just givin’ this brat a lil’ lesson. Wanna join?”
Seeing that the guy turned around, Psyche continued to look at Grei and quickly mouthed, “Please help me.”
